In recent years Enrico has taken on the revitalization of an indigenous white variety, Nascetta, which neared extinction until a small group of producers rediscovered it in the 1990s.

Sinio, Piemonte, Italy Enrico Rivetto is the fourth generation to steward the land his family purchased atop Piemonte’s Lirano hill. Lirano strides the border between Barolo, Serralunga d’Alba, and Sinio. His great grandfather started the winery in 1902, at 400m in altitude, on Serralunga’s calcareous clay and marl soils. Our winery is located on the top of Lirano Hill, 400 meters above sea level, at the border of Barolozone. The soil composes with Serralunga, Calcareous and rich clay to become Marl.

Originally founded in 1902, Rivetto was established in its current location between Sinio and the Barolo commune of Serralunga d’Alba in 1938. Enrico Rivetto, the fourth generation of the family, joined the property full-time in 1999 and started converting to organic viticulture in 2009.

The results is a timeless wine. Enrico Rivetto can talk to anyone in the world about his wines. A farmer at heart, he has slowly and strategically stitched together a lush quilt of an estate atop the Lirano hill near the town of Serralunga. Each element of his domain feeds the others.
